Kingdom Under Fire 2 is a MMORPGRTS mix-n-mash trying to be a great combination of games, but fails miserably in every aspect of it.
By rumors the developer invented lots of money into the project to make the game a huge success, but reality is harsh and game fails miserably at many aspects, trying to be a fullpriced mmorpgrts game, but feels like a mobile f2p.

Warning! info for the non Eu/US player out there, there is only 2 servers available, which are 1 in EU and 1 in US , so beware before u buy

TL:DR below:
- The MMO aspects are really-REALLY bad (imho, i've played mmo games for 15 years so i'm understanding what is what)
- The first 6 hours of the game is all tutorial
- The upgrade / reward system is complete trash. It's basically pay2win, except you can't actually buy the stuff. So its literally a massive grind of hoping stuff drops, then hoping you win the roll, then if you get it spending 2 hours a day for 7 days to afford 1 troop rank up. Note that is not an exaggeration i did the math for upgrading from 2 star to 3. If you need to grind for the upgrade from 1 to 2 star add another 3 days.
- lots of bugs / crashes / glitches in the middle of quest (reload into the game to fix em)
- lots of server instability issues.
- 90% of the missions can be soloed with your hero and no troop management is required.
- There's no balance at all, 90% of troops are useless, just pick Axe Throwers, Scorpions, Mortyrs, Archers and you're all set.
- Major push for you to login "EVERY day" for the attendance rewards + daily missions. The missions are literally the exact same every day. To farm everything every day would probably be at minimum 2.5 hours not counting if you do the raids daily would put you up to about 4 hours.
- Hero can't jump over the smallest/invisible things, because game told you so.
- Mobs standing in front of you can't see you and won't do anything until you start killing em (from the side the game is gonna look like a complete joke). - in the fields, in RTS mode mobs do stuff better.
- You can't change the layout of buttons.
- Graphics look really outdated like 10-15 years. (that's not an issue for me, but can be for some)
- I do not recommend the game in its current state. They need to overhaul the upgrade system and reward system before i can recommend it.
- Within an hour of starting, my friends have quit because was too bored or sick of getting stuck in a middle of tutorial quest, and zero co-op missions (except kill 3 wolfs, bring few pelts and etc)

More details below
MMO stuff
- The Quest system is useless, because they feel like a chore to do, are literally: talk to me, talk to guy 5 feet from me, talk to me, talk to another guy 5 feet from me, repeat this 5 times, pickup this box next to me and give it to me, now talk to me outside of town, now down the road, now at the next outpost, etc.
- You will end up just spamming F as fast as you can because this automatically does all the correct things for commentary. You don't actually need to read anything. I don't know anyone that has read anything in the game or has any idea what the story actually is.
- It's missing tons of basic features. The chat system is hard to use and most outright ignore it other than world chat.
- The general enemies in the open world are basically pointless. early on they provide 1 xp per kill and are absolutely no threat sometimes not even fighting back and are just annoying because they knock you off your horse
- Being on mount is useless cause all you have to do is walk 5 feet to talk to a guy, and then the quest triggers.
- All mounts have the exact same speed, so having multiple ones is pointless.
- Classes are imbalanced with some of them being completely useless.
- Crafting system UI is a complete joke. You have a "craft" button and a "craft all" button. God knows why you'd want to randomly craft everything and thus waste all your materials. After you craft something you have to click "Move To Inventory". if you don't you can't craft anything at this craft merchant or any of the others but it doesn't actually tell you why or which merchant you have to go pickup the item from.

RTS:
- Other than raids your Hero can solo everything and you don't even need troops.. hell just hero's could solo 2 of the 4 raids right now.
- The RTS is a lot of fun but honestly there isn't much actual strategy with only 1 or 2 requiring actual strats
- most missions long as your troops are upgraded you just throw them at the enemy and go to hero mode and slaughter them while your troops keep them busy.
- Major battles you'll be getting very low FPS.
- Enemies just spawn in on mass out of no where. If you had pushed through the enemy they'll just spawn right on top of you.
- The only time these are difficult is when they throw in 30 enemy archer/ rifleman regiments all of a sudden and your troops die almost instantly (one of the raids)
- Troops are largely imbalanced with many not used at all

Loot: Obviously the game is about getting better loot for your hero and better troops.
- You can get blue troops from subjugation missions. The best way to do this is literally to get a D (worst) ranking. For some reason this guarantees the troop book will be in one of the 4 cards you can blindly select from for loot. This means you'll have a 25% chance of getting a unit. Far better odds than getting the troops from the raid, but this means you literally have to just run around on the map for 3 minutes and kill nothing or you'll do better than D. you have to literally do the worst possible job to get the best odds.

Upgrading. I think its important for people to understand how you upgrade your troops as this is super important but done SUPER badly. All of this is achieved through lots of grinding to use materials to purchase it or via just pure luck.
- To rank up a troop you need 2-3 things
1. the region stone. This is specific to the region the troop is from. i count 10 regions from the npc that sells them. Buying these is expensive using troop coins or you get lucky off random drops
2. the vision stone. This is specific to the unit type. I currently count at least 13 of these + duplicate ones for the legendary versions. You get the basic ones for troop coins while legendary ones take a ♥♥♥♥ ton of farming. About 10 days worth of maxing out your daily crack missions to get 1 unit up to rank 3.
3. better troops require meritorious stones. For blue troops you get 10 pieces to make 1 full stone which you need at least 10 for the rank up. Same for legendary troops 10 pieces to make 1 full piece.
- Equipment upgrades! That's right some of your troops get equipment upgrades
This is via various stones again different kinds for different troops and far as I know its all gotten via random drops or random chests that you get for doing daily quests.
4. You also can teach your troops new skills. This costs cubics which is a whole different currency that you acquire from grinding quests. Some of the advanced skills can ONLY be purchased from the cubic shop but they seem to rotate stock so no guarantee they'll have the skill you want.

PVP
- its dead. there is none
- The pvp zone they send you to at end game for quests is pointless. People just stand outside of the town trading kills and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the game. You can only get credit for 1 kill every 5 minutes and for some dumb reason the daily quest requires 3.

Bugs / Random bad things.
- occasional crashes
- massive server instability. lots of people have had issues logging in regularly
- if you log out in the world map most people can't log back in without logging into another character first.
- Mobs sometimes can become immortal beings
- Model issues
- major battles the game will run at 15 FPS on a 1060
- Have run into a lot of issues where a skill / zone / etc says its there but isn't actually in the game yet.

Kingdom Under Fire 2 – The perfect Blend of MMO and RTS

This is an action MMORPG/RTS hybrid in which you control a hero character and lead troops into battle against massive armies, switching between hack & slash action against large numbers of enemies (somewhat similar to Dynasty Warriors but with the skill usage and combo style combat of action MMORPGs like TERA and Blade & Soul) and troop micromanagement from a bird's eye view of the map similar to conventional RTS games. I played this game during the open beta on Malaysian servers way back in 2014 and while the stability and performance has greatly improved and the story content is complete, plenty of gameplay flaws present during open beta have not been fixed.

Character creation is decent but severely limited. There are a total of 5 genderlocked classes, and while the female classes are quite attractive, there are no body sliders or physique customization i.e. no breast sliders. (╯ ͡ ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)╯︵ ┻━┻ If you wanna play as a big breasted female character ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), the only viable classes are Spellsword and Ranger; the third female class, Elementalist, is petite and small-breasted which would appeal to Flat is Justice fans, I suppose. Ranger costumes are pretty conservative so if you wanna see plenty of sideboob, cleavage, bare midriff and thighs, you're pretty much locked into Spellsword. Ironically, face customization is extremely robust with plenty of options and tweaks for eyes, ears, lips and hair. You can preview different clothing sets for each class during character creation, but don't be fooled; these are cash shop costumes and there is only ONE default armor appearance per class regardless of what armor pieces you equip.

The game does a good job at introducing different gameplay mechanics and the complicated controls for both the action RPG and RTS modes, however this much micromanagement may be too cumbersome and stressful for some players, especially if you just wanna sit back and relax with some simple hack & slash gameplay. Outside of these large-scale battles, gameplay is similar to most regular MMORPGs, do sidequests to level up and follow the breadcrumb main story quests to new locations. The game does a good job at pointing you in the direction of your next objective and even marks the location of quest objectives on the minimap, which is immensely helpful. Progression through the game is extremely linear and is pretty relaxing and enjoyable as there is no fear of accidentally skipping missable content.

Character progression is also extremely linear. You automatically learn new active and passive skills at specific levels and there is no need to worry about optimal builds; you are given way more skills and combos than you'll ever need and it's up to you to decide which skills to use in combination with mouse button presses to trigger chain combo effects. Your character's effectiveness in battle is mainly determined by equipment and the different troops that you can equip to follow you into battle.

Graphics are slighly dated compared to modern MMORPGs but still looks really beautiful on Ultra settings. I experienced smooth framerates while playing on Ultra settings. The female characters in this game are really beautiful and many of the female NPCs have massive breasts and display generous amounts of cleavage. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) The Spellsword and Ranger do have huge breasts as well but their default armor appearance is honestly pretty covered up for a fantasy RPG title. Unfortunately, it is also quite difficult to look up the female characters' skirts due to the camera glitching into the models at very close range (though I managed to get a peek at up an Elementalist's skirt and she wears innocent white panties ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ).

The biggest problem with this game that was present during the 2014 open beta is equipped armor doesn't change the appearance of your character. As stated earlier, every character of each class looks exactly the same no matter how high the level of equipped armor. The only way to change your character's appearance is by buying costumes from the cash shop with diamonds (cash shop currency bought using real money). The game does reward you with alternative cash shop currency, cubix, for completing content such as quests but this currency is obtained in such tiny amounts that it would literally take months to save up enough cubix to buy a cash shop costume. Also, be aware that some costumes can only be bought with diamonds (i.e. real money); the incredibly lewd Spellsword micro bikini ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) that is present in many of the game's promotional screenshots is one such example of a costume obtainable only with real money. The entire point of levelling up in RPGs is to be able to equip newer (and hopefully lewder ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ) outfits; there is literally no point in playing a game if your armor appearance is gonna stay the same no matter how far you progress through the game.

Since the game is fully functional and has quite a lot of PvE content, I'd recommend this game only if you enjoy both hack & slash games as well as RTS games, and are willing to spend ludicrous amounts of money for proper cash shop costumes. If you're looking for an MMORPG experience, this game is pretty repetitive and boring with its lazily designed 'kill X number of enemies' and fetch quests. There are much better action MMORPGs out there such as TERA, which is still one of the best MMORPGs of all time due to the easily obtainable sexy armor and plentiful fanservice. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

However, I do recommend checking this game out during a free weekend as the Spellsword preview costumes in the character creation are definitely worthwhile research material for one-handed activity sessions. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Bothers you for an email address, with no option to skip. (Presumably so that they can send spam.)
Launcher is mandatory, game requires three executables. (Error "Invalid call execution." otherwise.)
Floaty cursor. Lag. Zero achievements. Defaults to 4:3 aspect ratio. No AA of any kind to start with.
Character customization non-existent. (Spam clicking Random, only get identical characters) Darn!
Subtitles do not match what is spoken during cinematic. (The pacing is wrong as well.) Drat!
Some movies are silent. Without turning on subtitles you'd have no idea what is happening. Darn!
Adult generals using super tame childish swear words? Really immersion-breaking. And immature.
Loading screens take far too long. But there's an option to skip them? Nah... Just press any key.
There are loading screens for loading screens. Loading screens for movies. Lag spike after load complete.
Cinematics take so long my windows screen saver turns on half way through. And the game gets minimized.
"Select hero" is hotkeyed to tilde (~). Such button is NOT on my keyboard. Neither is Z next to X.
There's no ' or ` to center camera on hero either. Tutorial fails to progress until I edit keybindings.
There's a loading screen every 30 seconds. Sometimes three. And they take more than 30 seconds. Wait instead of play.
The teleport crystal help page has popped up four times now. I know how to use it! I HAVE used it. Stop spam.
My inventory is completely full from opening the welcome gift / compensation packages. Recursive junk: chests inside chests.
If I accept a quest the NPC becomes un-interactable. Forcing me to abandon the quest just so I can read the optional lore.
World chat is spammed all to hell and cannot be turned off. In fact there are TWO tabs dedicated to showing World chat.
Novice's Supplied Staff cannot be: Discarded, Sold, Destroyed, Traded, or Disassembled. Yet its stats are garbage.
Confusingly similarly named item: Supplied Trainee Staff can be thrown away. But its stats are better.

Edit: Yeah definitely. "90% of my review is only because my PC is bad." /s
But it meets the minimum requirements! And is fully up to date + well maintained. Latest drivers, Windows Updates, no viruses or bloatware (other than this game's launcher obviously), and everything fine-tuned towards an ultimate performance-boosting configuration.
Anyway, the remaining 10% of my review still stands, because: they spam your email, force a launcher down your throat, no achievements, lag, stupid graphics defaults, useless character customization, bad subtitles, bad pacing, silent movies, fear of saying ♥♥♥♥, too many loading screens, long cinematics, with only short gameplay segments, bad hotkey layout, overdone hand-holding (repeated help popups), predatory monetization practices (full inventory scam), faulty game design, spam in global chat, bad itemization.

Edit 2:
Misleading wording on DLC pages: "contains the full version of Kingdom Under Fire 2 and the * DLC." — Nope, it only contains the DLC itself. Full game is another 30$ on top of the 70$. Though they claim it's worth 50€ on other pages. Misleading!

Obviously; Pay to win:
3x Exclusive Costumes
2x Mounts
10x Troop Coupon
20x Troop Revival
2x Rare Troop
1x Heroic Troop
1x Unit: Experienced Paladin
1x Troop XP Book
30x Heroic Improvement Stone
30x Faction Improvement Stone
In-game currency: 5,000x Cubic
Silver & Gold Booster Pack (365 Days)
5x Change Appearance Voucher
150x Resurrection Ticket
50x Universal Repair
2x Character Slot Expansion

Misleading pricing: Says it's 50 when in a package, but only 30 for the base game. Here, compare:

30€ Kingdom Under Fire 2
20€ Emperor Package
30€ Hero Package
70€ War God Package

150€Price of individual products:
100€Cost of this package:
50€Here's what you save by buying this package

vs

50€ Kingdom Under Fire 2
50€ Hero Package

100€Price of individual products:
30€Cost of this package:
70€Here's what you save by buying this package

So is Kingdom Under Fire 2 priced at 50€ or 30€!?
